Your walls want these pictures to be on them!

I am selling four 24x30 canvas wrapped prints. This is a little personal project called Garbage Garden. I trucked a load full of flowers to the Campbell River dump after much convincing they let me in, and I am pretty sure they thought I was a complete nut job as I was there playing in the garbage for hours. I was happy with the shots and even happier to see them stretched on canvas. I am selling them for $375.00 each, if you are interested give me a call....250-522-0155.

Eat Local

I recently had the pleasure of working with Ronald and Trish St. Pierre, and the rest of the awesome staff at Locals restaurant in Courtenay. They were more then generous in preparing amazing dishes for me to photograph. Their food is unreal, with all ingredients coming from Vancouver Island everything is fresh and delicious. Can't thank them enough for the great opportunity.

Spring

I love spring, and i think now it is safe to say that it is here. My warm jackets are retired, lots of flowers are poking up, the air smells warm and slightly like skunk cabbage, we don't eat dinner before 8 o'clock, and I  find that I am putting wool socks on my feet less and less. I was standing in my kitchen yesterday evening and the cherry tree in the backyard immediatly caught my attention. It was in full bloom and had the  most wicked light on it. I just bought a awesome new 60mm micro lens and am in love with seeing its capabilities, so I couldn't resist this pretty temptation.

fly on the wall

Over the last few days I was in vancouver. I was lucky enough, thanks to my wonderful aunts to have the privilege to sit in on AG's annual photo shoot. This was a pretty big deal, multiple professional models from around the world, an amazing photographer, and crew of insanely talented stylists, make-up artists and wardrobe. For 3 days i sat and watched and learned, it was so inspiring and awesome to be in such a creative environment, the energy was high and the shots were incredible. I managed to sneak a couple of shots, they a pretty good idea of the calibre of the photo shoot.

Welcome to my brain

In a way, photography is like someone reading a poem or singing a song that exposes their hidden emotions and darkest secrets. All of their life and experiences through it give shape to different perspectives and unique ways of looking through viewfinder to capture their vision, looking at their photographs is like peaking into their brain and observing the world through their eyes. So, here are some of my older and more recent creations, i hope you enjoy reading my diary.

This image is my interpritation of the Incredulity of Saint Thomas by Caravaggio. I reproduced the image use gum bi-chromate. A really cool technique that involves painting a large piece of rag paper with light sensitive paint ( colours of your choice) and blasting it with U.V lights or if you live in a sunny place the sun works too. It's a time consuming process, but really fun and beautiful.
Here is the real deal....
